22 April 2025 (Tuesday) – Langkawi once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by hosting the pre-launch ceremony of the Green and Geopark Excellence Awards (GAGA 2025), held in conjunction with Earth Day celebrations at The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa.
The event marked the initial step towards the rollout of GAGA 2025, organised by A PEN Media, as an initiative to recognise outstanding achievements in green innovation, sustainable entrepreneurship, heritage preservation, and excellent geopark management.
In his speech, Dr Azmil Munif Mohd Bukhari, Manager of the Tourism Division of LADA, stated that GAGA 2025 is not merely a platform for recognition, but also a call to action to highlight the efforts of individuals, communities, and companies making a real impact in the areas of sustainability and environmental conservation.
LADA also expressed appreciation to A PEN Media, the panel of judges, and all parties who have contributed both directly and indirectly to the success of this initiative.
