What started out as a lifelong dream finally became a reality for hobby chef and entrepreneur Tayfun Koksal. Being in the top management in the corporate world throughout his years, he had always wanted to run his own restaurant when he retired.

This dream turned into a wonderful reality sooner than he expected. Due to some unforeseen and unexpected turn of events during the MCO period, he retired earlier than expected. He always enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends at home. And now, what turned out to be a passion, he has turned it into a business. His main passion is cooking Mediterranean cuisine.
The birth of Tayfun’s Kitchen started in Langkawi as a guest chef for special events and then turned to a twice-a-week guest chef in a famous restaurant. With rave reviews from customers, it propelled him to start Tayfun’s Kitchen on March 22, 2022, at Kopi C Bon Ton Resort.
After almost two years, Tayfun decided it was time to expand his boundaries, both in his culinary skills and restaurant skills. He relocated the restaurant to Poseidon’s at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.
The Setting

Poseidon’s is located at the pool area of the club. Poseidon serves Mediterranean cuisine, from Spanish tapas to Greek cuisine, Italian pasta, and Turkish cuisine. It boasts a beautiful assortment of different tantalising flavours that will tease and delight your taste buds. Poseidon’s provides a chill and relaxed setting nestled at the poolside with a spectacular sunset where the ocean meets the sky and the marina yachts set a romantic mood. The array of colours that adorn the sky is nothing short of breathtaking. One can enjoy watching the playful monkeys and hornbills as they feast on berries from the nearby trees. As the sun sets and night falls during the squid fishing season, one can witness the beautiful green glow from the fishing boats of the squid fishermen that illuminate the night sky. It is truly surreal.

The Cuisine
The chef’s famous spicy buffalo wings are a crowd favourite. It is definitely a must-try dish. It is made with secret recipe herbs and spices, fried to perfection, then coated with another blend of secret sauces served with the decadent rich blue cheese dipping sauce. Choose your level of spiciness with care.

Notable is the use of homemade sauces in all dishes. Fresh produce is self-blended, roasted, or grilled, and cooked to perfection with love.

The tapas dishes include gambas al ajillo, which is another crowd favourite and perfect to enjoy in the warm afternoons. The spanakopita and Cigara Borek are popular dishes comprising cheese-filled pastries.
Special stews are the popular beef stew, and newly introduced is the lamb stew. Chicken gyros and lamb souvlaki will be a delightful treat to those who love skewer specials.
Salad lovers can enjoy a special Turkish shepherd salad and a special classic salad from a Byzantine era in Egypt known as Alexandria Balela salad that bursts with Mediterranean flavours with every mouthful.
The Italian pasta boasts homemade pesto sauce made from a special hydroponic and organically homegrown basil from the island. The 4-cheese and mushroom homemade ravioli in 3-cheese cream sauce is a treat for everyone. It is simply irresistible and full of flavour, and it is a delicious treat for all cheese and pasta lovers.
A new addition to the menu is the Caribbean Special Crab Farci and Prawns in a salted egg yolk-based sauce, which is quickly gaining popularity here.
You will have to come over to enjoy the cuisine and the amazing sunsets.
