This is the only town in China built directly on a bridge, blending Chinese and Western styles in a way that is rarely seen.
From afar, a 400-meter viaduct appears to suspend rows of colorful houses in midair, like cottages from a fairytale. This is Chongqing’s Fulin Wine Town. Up close, half the buildings feature white walls and black tiles in the gentle style of Jiangnan water towns, while the other half showcase romantic European architecture. Together they form a seamless harmony.
Walking through feels like time travel—one step leads to narrow alleys with carved wooden windows, the next to streets of pointed rooftops. Built right on the bridge edge, windows open onto sheer drops and glittering river views, with breezes that refresh and inspire.
