Langkawi Eagle's Nest Skywalk

The Eagle has landed.

From the under belly of the eagle structure, visitors see a nest of three eggs perched over a cliff at the mid-station of the world’s steepest cable ride.

The Eagle’s Nest skywalk offers a vista of lush forest below that blends in with the azure sky and blue seascape of islands that is seemingly the perfect spot for the predatory reddish brown eagles – the Brahminy Kites found in Langkawi.

On the skywalk, a glass-bottom round deck overhangs out of the Mount Machinchang mountain that the brave tourists get to experience the thrill of looking down a straight drop of over 650 metres to the cable ride station below.

On close up, you will notice that one of the three eggs has hatched with broken shells.

Kemana mag picks this article as its opening travel story because it is emblematic of characteristics that is being co-opted as our ethos as a travel portal; an eagle that has clear vision, takes quick flight and soar to great heights, focuses on the here and now, committed to overcome challenges, zooms in to seize opportunities, prepares to work outside of your comfort zone, and exhibits courage. Welcome onboard! – Editor

This travel story on Eagle Nest Skywalk is narrated by Lynn Zubir, a former veteran hotel general manager, whose detailed knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Perched at the peak of the middle station of Langkawi’s landmark Sky Bridge accessible by the world’s steepest cable car ride is an Eagle sculpture watching over a nest laid with twigs and two eggs and another with broken shells.

This new attraction at 650 meters above sea level has a 38-meter free standing cantilever glass platform that looks down to the valley below.

Imagine having to work up the courage to step on the glass platform, placing your best foot in front and feeling with relief the weight of your body firmly grounded, is not a task as easy as it seems.

The same feeling that spooks visitors also hit the editorial team @ kemana in bringing to you all travel news and information that matter via the world wide web.

Forested hills, romantic white sand beaches and crystal clear waters will definitely greet you once you have landed on the island of Langkawi. Known mysteriously as ‘Legendary Island’ and the drifts serenely over the azure Andaman Sea, Langkawi is surely one of the dreamy vacations that you should add to your bucket list.

As Langkawi spreads its way to welcome a new addition to the island, the Eagle Nest Skywalk promises to be an emblem of pride and a beacon for future endeavours.

Langkawi, a much sought after and one of the best island destinations in the world for local and international tourists, is a pride of Malaysia itself, indeed.

Its latest addition to the island tourist destinations comes a magical eagle-shaped observatory sky deck “newest tourist attraction”, we may call it. Nestled on the peak of the middle-station of Langkawi Skycab Cable Car, porched a staggering 645 metres above sea level on the summit of Gunung Machingchang.

Eagle Nest Skywalk is a 38-metres free-standing cantilever glass platform sky deck which can accommodate 300 people at one time, and is now a must-visit place in Langkawi. While claiming its place as the world’s largest free standing skywalk, this new gem that graces Langkawi Island is a skywalk like no other and an architectural masterpiece of its own.

In the heart of Langkawi’s beautiful lush landscapes, the Eagle Nest Skywalk emerges as a symbol of resilience, creativity and surely a gem of the island. Poised to enchant visitors to witness the world from a new perspective, you can expect to be enthralled by the panoramic views as far as the eye can see, offering a unique bird’s eyes view experience of Langkawi’s Natural Beauty.
